OFF BASE is a curated food and drink discovery app prototype designed specifically for the military community living outside the US; starting with Okinawa. It's basically a trusted local guide built by someone from the military community, for the military community.
OFF BASE
The military community overseas currently has recommendations are scattered across Facebook groups, buried in comment threads, and passed around in group chats. Mainstream platforms are built for locals and don't account for base proximity, English-friendly service, etc.
OFF BASE surfaces recommendations that is vetted for what matters to this community. The app creates a dedicated home for the local knowledge that already exists, and makes it actually findable.
